This is special story that began seven years ago, as I found myself in the throws of a divorce.  Scott and I had been together since the 8th grade.  After 12 years of marriage he had become my identity, yet suddenly he was gone.  Initially the one to leave the family (husband and child); I was ultimately the one to have strong desires to reconcile our marriage.  We were not believers, and we were tired of the race.  As a corporate professional, I dedicated the bulk of my time to my job for accolades and acceptance- and left my family to fend for themselves.  You can only imagine the shape our lives were in.

One month after we separated, my husband filed the paperwork for a divorce and never looked back.  I realize now, many things led up to that point of resignation.  About six months into the separation I became very depressed, as a growing level of conviction began to overcome me.  Being an independent woman, no one knew of my pain, which only multiplied the emotional burden of this journey.

It was a dark, rainy September morning before work, on a day the ache in my heart seemed too much for me to handle.  On the verge of a breakdown I went for a 4:00 a.m. run in the pouring rain and lightening.  In the midst of a torrid thunderstorm, little did I know my life would never be the same again.  I cried out in desperation on that lonely road and a Holy God heard me.

This is a captivating story about the total transformation of a woman devastated by the rejection she had both given and received.  She is a new creature today, and behold - all things are new!  While she was not rescued from her consequences, she was restored through them.  I am that woman, and this is my story about a journey of loss, hope, faith, and love that any heart can lay claim to.  Actually, it’s not my story at all- it’s His, and it will inspire you to be more than you will ever be alone on either side of your thunderstorm.  He doesn’t say He will be with us “if” we go through tribulation; the operative word in scripture is “when”.  My prayer is that you will walk away encouraged with at least one life-changing promise at your next event with me as your keynote speaker.
